Elite university on the brink

“The offer hit the campus in Oestrich-Winkel like a bombshell: Peter Rasenberger told the chairman of the Foundation Board of Trustees of the European Business School (EBS) that he was planning to invest well over a million euros in his former university. The proposition is not completely selfless: The management consultant is head of a group of alumni who aim to acquire shares in the university with private money. There are still some legal issues to be clarified, says EBS Dean Rolf Tilmes, but “basically, the Board has agreed to support the offer.”
